How can I Publish Book with HOC Publications?
Publishing your book with HOC Publications is really simple and convenient. Once you are done with writing your book manuscript, you can share your content via email or WhatsApp for editorial review, which may take 5-10 working days. Once reviewed, the publishing agreement and cost details will be shared. We take it from here and proceed with the final publishing step and printing of copies. Once published, the author has a choice to sell his/her book through HOC Publications and other online or offline bookstores.
How POD (Print on Demand) works for, at HOC Publications?
Print-on-Demand (POD) is a popular way of publishing a book with no copies printed in advance. Your book gets published and goes on our website for online sale. Customers can place orders all over Pakistan. Once the order is confirmed, the customer have to pay 50% advance payment of their order for confirmation.
After receiving payment, we print the copy(s) and dispatch to the customer. The production and dispatch process may take eight to ten working days at most. The author gets his/her royalty as decided in the agreement.
What is the Minimum No. of Copies I can get Published with HOC Publications?
At HOC, you can get published a minimum of one copy under the POD service.
However, in the beginning, the author has to buy the first ten copies or generate equivalent pre-orders. There is no restriction on the minimum copies after that.
How much does it cost to get publish with HOC Publications?
The cost varies on the basis of different factors like the number of pages, paper quality, binding type, number of copies to be printed, and the book size. The author is informed prior of all the relevant details, including the total cost.
How long does it take to get the book published at HOC?
For printing of copies over the POD model, it may take 18 working days or more.
With the bulk printing model, it may take 25 working days or more.
Please note that this period does not include the time required for editorial review or editorial work.
Does HOC market the book?
Book publishing is a process that is incomplete even after printing copies if there is no marketing involved. HOC – Your Dream Publishers helps authors market their books digitally over social media. However, the marketing strategy depends upon the publishing model.
What is ISBN?
The International Standard Book Number (ISBN) is a numeric commercial book identifier which is intended to be unique for every edition of each book and is consist of thirteen digits. Publishers get/purchase ISBNs from an affiliate of the International ISBN Agency. The method of assigning an ISBN is nation-specific and varies between countries. An ISBN is assigned to each separate edition and variation (except reprints) of a publication. For example, an e-book, a paperback and a hardcover edition of the same book will each have a different ISBN.
Does HOC provide ISBN?
As HOCPublications is a registered publishing house with the ISBN agency—holding publisher in Pakistan, it acquires and assigns ISBN to all its books.
Who owns the intellectual rights of the book published at HOC Publications?
We respect authors and value their work. The intellectual rights of the book remain with the author in self-publishing model. Auraq only holds the right to publish, sell and distribute the agreed edition of the book.
Which genre is easier to get published with HOC ?
HOC is open to publishing books in all genres and categories as long as their content is worth publishing and meets our standard guidelines.
What is the standard format for manuscripts and cover at HOC?
The manuscript can be submitted in MS Word format. If it is ready to print, it can also be submitted in the PDF format. The specifics are as follow: – Document Size: A5 – Margins: 0.75″ from four sides (size in inches) – If images are used, the resolution should be 300dpi.
The book cover can be submitted as PDF, or any other editable format with the specifications below: – Color Scheme: CMYK – Resolution: 300dpi – Size: A5 (single side, w x h in Inches) – Bleed Area: 0.5″ from four sides.
How much Royalty does HOC Offer on Sales?
Royalty division is as follows:
– In the POD model, the author gets 70% royalty out of the profit on each sold copy. – In the bulk printing model, the author get 100% royalty out of the profit on each sold copy
Note: The above royalty division is without any tax service charges.
Tax charges and any return parcels by the customer, (due to any reason) is to be deducted by the customer.
The royalty details are mentioned as part of the agreement with the author in the beginning of the proceeds.
The royalty amount is usually deposited every 30 days.
Does HOC Help the Author in publishing book on Amazon.com?
HOC helps the authors to make their book available on the world’s biggest marketplace.
Amazon.com. As per Amazon’s policy, only English books are eligible to display on the platform for both Kindle and Paperback versions.
In case of parcel return and refusal?
Incase of any book parcel refusal or return, (POD or Bulk Printing Model) The Pulisher is not liable to cover the cost.
The extra cost on return or refusal by the customer (due to any reason) will be covered by the author.
